Frequently Asked Questions

  • How accurate is your level sensors?
FarmTasker level sensors are rated at accuracy of±0.25 % of full span, which is 0.7cm for the 3m range and resolution one millimeter.
  • How to clean and maintain the level sensor?
It is recommended to install the sensor 10-15cm from the bottom of the tank to avoid blockage of the sensor head. But if by any reason sensor head is blocked by dirt or sludge, open the sensor cap carefully and be careful to not touch the diaphragm. The best method is to clean the sensor head by gently shake it in the water.
  • What measurement ranges do you offer?
FarmTasker Sensors standard solutions are coming with pre-configured range. For example 3m range for water and diesel tanks, 1m for water troughs, 10m for underground level, or 10bar for pressure sensors. But we offer one of the widest range of solutions in the market. If you need a sensor with different measurement range, please contact us.
  • What parameters are measured by FarmTasker sensors?
All our products are designed with farming applications in mind. Our sensors can reliably measure and securely transmit information about Pressure Level Temperature Distance Flow and water quality We also offer sensor interfaces to connect legacy and specialized devices to the internet using LPWAN technologies. For any non-standard solution or customised products, please contact us for detailed discussion.
  • What is the difference between submersible and ultrasonic level sensors? Which one is better for my application?
The main difference between submersible and ultrasonic level sensors is the measurement technique. In submersible sensors, the sensor head is immersed close to the floor of the tank or container. In Ultrasonic sensors, the sensor measures the distance between the top and fluid level. Ultrasonic sensors are useful for situations where the liquid level is unknown, or the flow is too high and can damage wires E.g.: flood water. Submersible sensors are useful for monitoring levels in water tanks, diesel tanks etc
  • How do I replace the battery?
Our sensors are low power and battery should last for a long time for the sampling rate of 3-4 times a day. But if needed to replace the battery, it is very simple. For cylindrical housing, simply unscrew the cap and open the cap to gain access to the battery For rectangular housings, 1. Take out the six black rubber feet at the back of box 2. Unscrew the six screws, and you will be able to access the battery You can get the battery from us or get the identical battery from other suppliers. Our battery holders have labelled terminals to eliminate any confusion about polarity. Please make sure you install the battery with the correct polarity and close the enclosure properly. after replace of the battery, be sure cap is closed completely, to avoid any damage to the electronics becausre of water or moisture ingestion.
